OUR MISSION
Nitamising Gimashkikinaan provides perinatal and lactation support to promote health among Indigenous babies and families.OUR TEAM
We are an Indigenous-led team of trained doulas and Indigenous Breastfeeding Counselors based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Together we represent Anishinaabe, Lakota, Dakota, and Ho-Chunk Nations. We provide group lactation and birth support as well as individual consultations.
OUR WORK
We provide lactation and perinatal support and education in a group setting as well as individual consultations online or in-person if in the Twin Cities. We have collective experience with perinatal education, labor and cultural birth education, labor and birth support in birth centers and hospitals, postpartum care and education, latch concerns, skin-to-skin, lactation positions, hand expression of milk, pumping milk, storing milk, returning to work and breastfeeding, and teething while breastfeeding.
